how to get here
Starways Arts Centre is located in Hogsback, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
The nearest airports are East London and Port Elizabeth, which are 2 and 3 hrs drive respectively. We are a 15hr drive from Cape Town, along the spectacular Garden Route; a 12hr drive from Johannesburg, 6hrs from Bloemfontein and 8hrs from Durban.
There is a shuttle bus for backpackers from East London, a train that goes to Queenstown and a coach that goes to Cathcart and Grahamstown, all of which are just over an hours drive from Starways.
Hogsback is not the easiest place to get to, but it’s location makes it ideal from getting away from it all.
Once you are here, please follow these directions:
When travelling along the main Hogsback road (R345) turn into Plaatjieskraal Road. There is a sign to Starways on the corner of Plaatjieskraal Road and if you follow a number of twists and turns you will see another Starways sign at the corner of Booysens Crescent. Take a left here and you will find parking and the entrance to Starways immediately on your right.
